Tesla Floor Mats — Pick By Model, Not By Universal Fit
Tesla floor pans differ meaningfully between Legacy and refresh trims. A 2020–2024 Model Y Legacy footwell is deeper than a 2021–2023 Legacy Model 3; a 2025 Juniper Model Y has a redesigned seat rail that leaves a gap on Legacy-cut mats; Model 3 Highland moved the dead pedal and under-seat HVAC vent. "Universal Tesla floor mats" usually fit none of these correctly. This hub points you to the model-specific TPE sets we've measured from the exact pan.

Why TPE Beats Everything Else
Thermoplastic elastomer is the Cybertruck bed-liner material — flexible at –40°F, rigid enough to hold molded anti-slip nibs, UV-stable, hose-clean in five minutes. Rubber cracks in cold. TPU is softer and picks up grit. Carpet holds salt and pet smell. Every BASENOR floor mat is TPE. We don't sell rubber or carpet-option variants because owners told us they prefer the single-material decision.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will a "Tesla universal" floor mat fit my car?
Almost certainly not. The Model Y Legacy footwell is deeper than Model 3 Legacy; Juniper's is contoured differently from Legacy; Highland moved the dead pedal narrower. Universal mats leave gaps along the seat rail where water and salt pool against the subframe. Always order model-year specific — the model-specific links above map to the exact pan we measured.
What's the difference between a 3-piece and an 8-piece set?
Piece count = how much of the interior gets waterproofed. 3-4 piece = cabin footwells only (front + rear). 6-8 piece = cabin + trunk liner + trunk side walls + frunk. 9-piece (Model Y 7-seater) adds a third-row floor mat. Pick by how much coverage you need — not by sticker price. Starting at 4-piece is enough for daily commute protection.
Will these fit my 7-seater Model Y?
Yes — the 9-piece Model Y Legacy set includes a dedicated third-row floor mat sized for 2021–2024 7-seat configurations. The standalone 7-seat trunk mat ($89) fits on top of the folded third-row well. 7-seat option was Legacy-only; Juniper (2025+) doesn't offer 7 seats.
Can I wash TPE mats in the machine?
No — hose them off outside. Garden hose + stiff brush + dish soap clears salt, grit, pet hair in about 5 minutes per mat. Machine washing stretches the anti-slip nibs and voids the warranty. Air-dry in the sun for 30 minutes; UV exposure firms the surface back up.
Do I need different mats for Highland vs Legacy Model 3?
Yes. Highland reshaped the front dead pedal, moved the under-seat HVAC vent, and made the rear footwell shallower by ~20 mm. Legacy mats leave finger-width gaps at the seat rail on Highland. Same deal for Model Y Legacy vs Juniper — different mat cuts, don't cross-fit. When in doubt, use our Fitment Checker tool.
