Android Tesla owners may finally be getting the real-time charging experience that iPhone users have enjoyed since early 2025. According to a report from Sawyer Merritt, Tesla's Android app is being updated to include live activities-style charging notifications — persistent, at-a-glance updates on your device's lock screen showing exactly what your car is doing at the charger.
Tesla launched Live Activity support for Supercharging on iOS with app version 4.45.0 back in May 2025, requiring iOS 17.2 or later. That feature displays battery state of charge, estimated cost, current power draw in kW, miles of range added per hour, and total energy added in kWh — all visible on the iPhone lock screen and Dynamic Island without opening the app. At the time, the feature was confirmed as iPhone-only, with no Android equivalent on the roadmap.
The Tesla Android app already supports general charging notifications — alerts when charging starts, stops, or is interrupted — but a persistent live overlay showing granular real-time data would be a meaningful step up. The Google Play listing was updated as recently as June 15, 2026, though that update did not specifically call out live activities-style functionality. The exact version number and rollout timeline for this Android feature have not yet been confirmed by Tesla officially.
