Tesla's upcoming Cybercab robotaxi won't require a separate app. According to Whole Mars Catalog, users will control their Cybercab experience directly from the existing Tesla mobile application — the same one millions of owners already use to manage their vehicles today.

The integration goes beyond simply hailing a ride. According to verified reports, Tesla app users will be able to request a Cybercab, select a pickup point and destination, track the vehicle's real-time arrival, and adjust cabin preferences — including temperature — before they even step inside. The Cybercab itself is built without a steering wheel or pedals, so the app effectively becomes the primary interface between passenger and vehicle.
This approach makes strategic sense. Tesla has spent years building a user base around its mobile app, and folding the robotaxi service into that existing experience lowers the friction of adoption considerably. The Cybercab is a purpose-built two-passenger autonomous vehicle with a 21-inch central touchscreen inside the cabin, but the journey starts on your phone. Tesla began producing the first Cybercab units at Gigafactory Texas in February 2026, with volume production ramping from April. The company is targeting a sub-$30,000 price point and has plans to expand its robotaxi service — currently operating in Austin with driverless Model Y vehicles — to cities including Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, and Las Vegas in the first half of 2026.
For existing Tesla owners, the implication is straightforward: no new app to download, no new account to create. The robotaxi network is being built as an extension of the ecosystem you're already in.
