The ceremony marks the public unveiling of a facility that has, in practical terms, already been running. The September event is less a factory opening than a coming-out party — Tesla's chance to walk fleet buyers, employees, and select media through a purpose-built Class 8 assembly line that has been years in the making.

According to details verified across multiple outlets, the “Semi Rollout” event is invite-only. Guests can bring one additional attendee, all attendees must be 21 or older with ID checked at the door, and RSVPs were due by September 2. The program is expected to include guided factory tours and ride-alongs in the production Semi — the first time many outside customers will experience the truck in its final, series-production form.

The guest list skews toward the people Tesla most needs to convince: potential fleet and logistics customers evaluating whether to place multi-hundred-unit orders. What the production Semi looks like

The truck rolling out of Sparks is meaningfully different from the prototypes that hauled Frito-Lay pallets in 2023. Ten cameras are onboard, and Tesla has confirmed Full Self-Driving will arrive via a future software update.

Charging pairs with Tesla's Megacharger network, which the company says can restore about 70% of range in roughly 30 minutes. A second public Megacharger station recently opened in Vernon, California, with six 1.2 MW stalls, and Tesla is targeting 66 sites across 15 states in partnership with Pilot Flying J.
