Why BASENOR for Tesla Spoilers
Every spoiler in our lineup is molded for one specific Tesla trim — not a "universal fit". We keep 10 distinct molds across Model 3 Legacy (2017–2023), Model 3 Highland (2024+), Model Y Legacy (2020–2024), Model Y Juniper (2025+), and Model S Plaid, each offered in multiple finishes (matte black and carbon fiber weave) for a total of 13 SKUs. Each is ABS plastic with a UV-stabilized clear coat so it doesn't yellow after 18 months in direct sun, and the install uses 3M VHB automotive tape that's been pull-tested to 40 lb on a factory trunk lip. No drilling, no warranty risk. What we don't make: side skirts, front lips, or diffusers — those are a different supplier problem and the fit tolerances are unforgiving.
Buying Guide: Picking the Right Spoiler
Pick by generation first, finish second, silhouette third. A Model Y Legacy spoiler will NOT sit flush on a Juniper — the rear-hatch curvature changed in 2025. A Model 3 Highland spoiler won't fit a 2023 Legacy car. After generation matches, the visual choice is matte black (stealth, adds visible lip ~20mm) or carbon fiber weave (gloss finish, ~30% more noticeable from 10 ft away). The "Performance" and "Pro" names refer to the silhouette — Pro is taller, Performance is flatter.
| Silhouette | Best for | Lip height | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| OEM Rear Spoiler | Subtle upgrade, factory-look match | ~15mm | Model 3 Legacy, Model Y Legacy, Model Y Juniper, Model S |
| Performance (Gen 2) | Aggressive stance, moderate lift | ~25mm | Model 3 Legacy, Model 3 Highland |
| Pro Spoiler | Tallest lip, motorsport look | ~40mm | Model Y Legacy only |
| Wing (OEM ABS) | Rear visibility-preserving wing shape | ~20mm (elevated) | Model 3 Legacy, Model Y Legacy |
Frequently Asked Questions
Will a rear spoiler affect my Tesla's range or top speed?
In real-world driving the range impact is under 1% at highway speeds, measurable only on a closed course. A rear spoiler reduces rear-end lift — it's an aero balance tweak, not a drag reducer. Tesla's factory Performance spoilers exist for this exact reason. If range loss were meaningful, Tesla wouldn't ship them.
Is the install really no-drill — and does the 3M tape survive a car wash / winter?
Yes, all 13 use 3M VHB automotive-grade double-sided tape that's rated to -40°F and survives standard brushless car washes. The trunk surface must be clean and above 50°F when you apply it — cold installs in a garage in February are the #1 cause of peeling. Warm the panel with your palm before pressing.
How do I tell if my Model 3 is Legacy (2017–2023) or Highland (2024+) before ordering?
Check the turn-signal stalk. Legacy Model 3 has a stalk; Highland removed it and moved turn signals to the steering-wheel scroll buttons. Second check: Highland has ambient light strips across the dash; Legacy doesn't. If VIN position 10 is P, R, or S, that's 2023/2024/2025 — cross-check with the stalk test.
What's the difference between a "Performance", "Pro", "OEM", and "Wing" spoiler in your lineup?
OEM matches the Tesla factory-Performance profile (~15mm lip). Performance Gen 2 is our aggressive silhouette (~25mm). Pro is the tallest (~40mm, Model Y Legacy only). Wing has an elevated airfoil shape that preserves more rear-glass visibility. The comparison table above shows which cars each silhouette fits.
Can I paint these to match Pearl White Multi-Coat, Midnight Silver, or Deep Blue Metallic?
Yes. The ABS substrate accepts automotive paint after a light scuff with 320-grit and a plastic adhesion promoter. Any body shop can color-match Tesla codes from your VIN — Pearl White (PPSW), Midnight Silver (MSM), and Deep Blue (DBPM) all match cleanly. Carbon fiber versions, however, are not paintable without losing the weave.
