For many years and decades of owning a car, I never used car covers. But never say never. And honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by what a cover can do for a car. Let's start from the beginning. I’ts fit my Tesla model X perfectly. I was very skeptical about the black color of the cover because I was looking for a silver or reflective one, believing that a black cover would attract more sunlight and cause the car to heat up more. How surprised I was to find out that this is not the case. Although the surface of the cover does get very hot (as shown in my video, where the temperature of the cover's surface exceeds 130°F in direct sunlight), the temperature inside and outside the car is significantly lower. The temperature sensor inside the cabin showed around 99°F, and the outside temperature sensor showed 94°F. This was a pleasant surprise for me. The previous day, under the same ambient temperature and sunlight intensity, the inside temperature of the car reached 120 – 125°F. The cover not only protects against bad weather and external influences like rain, snow, wind, and dust but also significantly reduces the temperature inside the cabin. The cover is made of durable synthetic material, and I carefully inspected the seams, which are very strong and reliable. I concluded that using the cover is suitable both in winter and summer, protecting the car from both freezing and overheating. I particularly liked that there is a large mesh at the front, which provides access to the ventilation hole that cools the battery when it overheats during charging or from atmospheric conditions. Reflective strips on the front and back of the car effectively reflect light at night, making the car visible to passersby and other vehicles. This is useful if the car is parked in a place with pedestrian or vehicular traffic. I also forgot to photograph the part of the cover that covers the car's charging port. This is convenient when the car is parked and needs to be charged using a home charger. It's not necessary to remove the cover completely for charging.Just open the charging port pocket. Now a bit about the downsides of this cover. Firstly, there are specially made pockets for the mirrors. The thing is, when the car is parked, the mirrors fold, making these pockets useless and they just flap in the wind. On the other hand, when approaching the car, the mirrors unfold, and the pockets allow the mirrors to open freely without stretching the cover. This might be the correct solution, though I'm not entirely sure. Another downside is that the covers are recommended to be secured with plastic buckles to the car's wheels. It's clear that wheels are not the cleanest part of the car, so be prepared for dirty hands. The front and rear parts of the cover have elastic bands that fit well around the car, while the sides need to be tightened with special straps and buckles to prevent the cover from being blown away by strong winds. I also found it somewhat unpleasant that the buckles can easily scratch the car's polish when putting the cover on. Therefore, care must be taken when putting on the cover. If I were the manufacturer, I would replace the buckles with Velcro. I also think that a silver cover would be significantly better as it would reflect sunlight and UV rays better, although the dark color does a decent job.Now about the process of unfolding and folding the cover. The cover arrived very tightly and neatly packed, but be prepared that after use, it won't be as easy to fold it as neatly. For example, the volume of the cover after use doubled in my case. The set includes a storage bag, which is quite convenient. I timed it, and it took me about 5 minutes to put the cover on and 3.5 minutes to take it off and put back in the bag.In conclusion, considering both the positive and negative aspects of using this product, I believe it deserves a solid four out of five stars.
