Why BASENOR for Model Y Juniper Wheel Covers
The 2025 Model Y Juniper shipped with two new wheel designs — a 19" aero-covered wheel (standard) and a 20" painted alloy (Long Range / Performance). Neither the spoke pattern nor the hub offset matches the 2020–2024 Legacy Model Y, which means legacy hubcaps and rim protectors don't sit flush on Juniper. We spec'd our 4 Juniper SKUs from a 2025 Juniper car in our lab: 19" hubcaps in matte black and two-tone black-and-silver for the aero wheel, plus 20" ABS rim protectors in matte black and silver for the painted 20" alloy. Locking-ring pattern matches the Juniper hub cutout exactly.
Buying Guide: Hubcap or Rim Protector?
Your Juniper's stock wheel size tells you which product you need. If you have the 19" aero-covered wheel (the standard wheel on Juniper Long Range), you want a hubcap set — it snaps over the factory plastic cover to change the visual without losing aero efficiency. If you have the 20" painted alloy (on Long Range upgrade / Performance), that wheel has no aero cover, so the relevant product is a rim protector that guards the painted outer lip from curb rash.
| Juniper wheel | Product type | Finish options | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| 19" Aero (standard) | Hubcap set (4-piece, snap-in) | Matte Black / Black & Silver two-tone | $168.99 |
| 20" Painted Alloy (Long Range upgrade / Performance) | Rim protector ring (adhesive) | Matte Black / Silver | $119.99 |
Frequently Asked Questions
Will legacy 2020–2024 Model Y wheel covers fit my Juniper?
No. Juniper's hub offset and spoke cutout changed — a 19" Legacy Gemini hubcap will not seat flush on the Juniper 19" aero wheel, and a 20" Induction rim protector won't match the 20" Juniper alloy curvature. We sell Juniper-specific SKUs labeled with the 2025–2026 model year range to avoid this mismatch.
How much range do these covers add — and is it worth the swap from the factory Helix?
The 19" aero-covered wheel is the efficient option — our hubcaps keep that aero benefit (~4–7% range vs open alloy) while letting you change the visual. Swapping from the factory-painted 20" alloy to an aero 19" wheel is what saves range; our rim protectors on the 20" don't add range, they protect the rim from curb damage.
What's the difference between the 19" Crossflow and the Helix 20" on Juniper?
Tesla names vary by region and spec sheet, but functionally: the 19" is the standard aero wheel on Juniper Long Range — efficient, plastic-covered, slightly quieter. The 20" is a painted open-alloy upgrade (Long Range upgrade or Performance trim) — sharper look, small range penalty, more curb-rash exposure. Our 4 SKUs cover both wheel sizes regardless of the marketing name.
Can I install these myself, or do I need to jack up the car?
Hubcap sets snap onto the factory locating pins — 90 seconds per wheel, no tools, no jack required. Rim protectors use 3M VHB adhesive that's pre-applied to the ring; clean the rim with isopropyl alcohol, press the ring around the rim lip for 30 seconds, wait 24 hours before a car wash. No tire removal.
Will these work with tire-pressure sensors and valve-stem spacing?
Yes. Hubcaps have a pre-cut valve-stem access slot sized for Tesla's standard 12mm TPMS stem — you can air up without removing the cover. Rim protectors sit on the rim's outer edge only and don't touch the valve stem or TPMS sensor at all. No re-calibration needed after install.
