Tesla UK Launches Renewable Energy Bundle With Solar, Powerwall 3 & Model 3

Tesla has quietly rolled out a new offer in the UK that bundles its home energy products into a single monthly payment — and existing Tesla car owners get first access. Launched on May 8, 2026, the Renewable Energy Bundle packages an eight-panel solar installation and a Powerwall 3 battery for £199 per month, financed over four years at 0% interest. A £1,747 deposit is required upfront.

The more eye-catching option is the three-way bundle: add a Tesla Model 3 to the energy package and the combined monthly payment comes to £494. For context, a Model 3 on its own starts from £295 per month — meaning the solar and Powerwall 3 component of the combined deal works out to £199, consistent with the standalone energy pricing. Applications go through BOXT, Tesla's UK installation partner. Non-Tesla drivers can also access the solar and Powerwall offer through the same installer, though at different pricing terms.

The Powerwall 3 itself is a capable unit: 13.5 kWh of storage, up to 11.04 kW of continuous discharge power, and a built-in solar inverter that can handle up to 20 kW of solar production. It carries a 10-year warranty guaranteeing at least 80% cell capacity, and it's IP67-rated — meaning it can handle a flood up to 60 cm deep. The Powerwall 3 has been available in the UK since mid-2024, with installations beginning in September of that year.

Bundling energy products with vehicle financing is a notable move for Tesla UK. It lowers the perceived barrier to going fully electric at home — one monthly payment covers your car, your solar generation, and your battery storage. Whether the economics pencil out depends heavily on individual energy usage and local tariffs, but the 0% financing removes the interest cost that typically makes large home energy installations harder to justify upfront.
