Tesla has opened its largest Supercharger station in Canada, and the timing is deliberate. The new 44-stall facility in Ajax, Ontario went live ahead of the Canada Day long weekend — one of the busiest travel periods of the year for Ontario drivers heading east or west along the Highway 401 corridor.

The station sits at Durham Centre, near the northeast corner of Kingston Road and Harwood Avenue — a location with direct access to Highway 401, making it a natural pit stop for long-distance travel across southern Ontario. All 44 stalls are V4 Superchargers, equipped with the longer 3-meter cables that Tesla introduced for improved accessibility and easier positioning for a wider range of vehicles. Critically, the station is open to any EV supporting the North American Charging Standard (NACS), not just Teslas.
Construction began in May 2025 and wrapped roughly seven to eight months later. The scale of the Ajax site is a meaningful step up for the Greater Toronto Area's charging infrastructure — the nearest comparable station in Pickering has just 20 stalls, and congestion there has been a recurring frustration for local owners. With 44 V4 stalls now online, Ajax should absorb a significant portion of that demand, particularly during peak travel weekends.
For Canadian Tesla owners planning Canada Day trips, this station is worth adding to your route. It's accessible via the Tesla app's trip planner and should already appear in navigation as a stop option. If you're traveling the 401 corridor this weekend, Ajax is now the most capable charging stop in the country.
