π UPDATE β July 10, 2026
FSD 14 Lite for AI3 (HW3) has now reportedly completed a notable long-distance journey, marking an early real-world milestone for the software. Whole Mars Catalog highlighted the trip on X, calling attention to how far the vehicle traveled autonomously using the HW3-optimized build. A live tracking link was shared publicly so followers could monitor the route in real time. This suggests FSD 14 Lite is performing well beyond short urban trips, even on the older AI3 hardware.
Tesla has taken FSD V14 Lite international. As of July 10, 2026, Tesla AI confirmed that V14 Lite is now rolling out to early access AI3 (Hardware 3) owners in South Korea β making this the first HW3 FSD deployment outside North America. If you own a US-built Model 3 or Model Y in Korea and you're on the early access program, your update may already be waiting.

What's in V14 Lite for HW3 Owners
V14 Lite isn't a stripped-down version in name only β it's a genuine architectural upgrade for Hardware 3 vehicles. According to Tesla's official release notes, the software distills the intelligence from the newer HW4 V14 stack using reinforcement learning and offline AI models, allowing HW3 to learn directly from HW4's behavior. Early adopters in North America (where the rollout began around June 29) have described the leap as dramatic.
| Change | Type | Models |
|---|---|---|
| HW4 V14 intelligence distilled into HW3 via RL and offline models | Official | Model 3, Model Y (HW3) |
| Improved navigation, merges, forks, pedestrian interactions, traffic lights, cut-ins | Official | Model 3, Model Y (HW3) |
| Fewer false slowdowns, smoother steering, more consistent lane centering | Official | Model 3, Model Y (HW3) |
| Parking, unparking, and reversing capabilities introduced | Official | Model 3, Model Y (HW3) |
| Arrival Options: choose Parking Lot, Street, Driveway, or Curbside | Official | Model 3, Model Y (HW3) |
| Speed Profiles available at all times | Official | Model 3, Model Y (HW3) |

Does Your Korea-Based Tesla Qualify?
This rollout is narrow β and intentionally so. Here's exactly who is and isn't eligible right now:
You likely qualify if:
- Your vehicle is a US-built Model 3 or Model Y (AI3 / HW3)
- You are enrolled in the FSD early access program in South Korea
- You have an active FSD subscription or purchased FSD
You are not eligible yet if:
- Your Model 3 or Model Y was manufactured in China (the majority of Korean-market Teslas) β these vehicles remain locked out of FSD at the software level due to South Korean regulatory requirements
- You have Hardware 4 (AI4) β V14 Lite is specifically for HW3 vehicles; HW4 owners in Korea already received FSD V14 starting with Model S/X in November 2025
- You are not on the early access program β broader rollout timing has not been announced

Action Plan for Korean HW3 Owners
If you think you're eligible, here's how to check and get set up:
- Check for the update now. Go to Controls β Software on your touchscreen. If V14 Lite is available, you'll see a notification. You can also tap Check for Updates to force a refresh.
- Confirm your hardware. Go to Controls β Software β Additional Vehicle Information. Look for "Autopilot computer: Tesla Hardware 3.0". If it says HW4 or AI4, this specific update isn't for you.
- Verify your build origin. Your VIN tells you where your car was built β US-built Model 3/Y VINs begin with "5YJ". China-built VINs begin with "LRW" or "LRR". If yours is China-built, you'll need to wait for regulatory clearance.
- Schedule the install overnight. Once the update appears, set it to install during off-peak hours. Go to Controls β Software β Schedule Update and pick a time when the car is parked and plugged in.
- After install β explore Arrival Options. This is one of the most practical new features. Before your next trip, tap your destination in navigation, then look for the Arrival Options selector to choose where FSD should drop you off.
- Set your Speed Profile. Head to Controls β Autopilot β Speed Profile. You can now adjust this at any time, not just before a trip β useful for switching between comfort and efficiency depending on road conditions.

South Korea was already a milestone market for FSD β it became the first country outside North America to receive FSD V14 on HW4 hardware, starting with Model S and Model X in November 2025. Today's HW3 rollout extends that lead. For the many Korean owners still waiting on China-built vehicles, the regulatory path remains the key blocker β and there's no announced timeline for that to change. For those who do qualify, this is one of the most substantive HW3 software upgrades Tesla has ever shipped.
