After installing these filters, it no longer smells after initially opening the air conditioner. To be fair, I also changed the cabin filter at the same time. So it could be the cabin filter that got rid of the smell. Since I changed both filters, I will give this filter credit as well.

Well made filter, the only thing is you have to check if your 2020 or earlier model Y uses these filter. Just lift the cover and you'll see a wide panel that houses filters, if your model doesn't have it it will have air intake on the left side of the car and no place to put filters.

These cabin filters are good replacements for the OEM version. They fit perfectly and seem to provide comparable filtering for the car's interior. I don't drive in a very dusty area so I don't need super filtering. These should be just fine. Glad I ordered them.
