New aerial footage from Giga Texas shows the factory expanding its Megacharger infrastructure near the outbound lot — a clear sign that more Tesla Semi trucks are being prepared for active duty around the facility. The buildout points to a meaningful step-up in Semi production and deployment, not just a minor infrastructure tweak.

Aerial observer Joe Tegtmeyer spotted the expansion and noted the additional Megacharger stations appear specifically positioned to support Semi operations in and around the outbound lot — the staging area where finished vehicles are prepared for transport. Megachargers deliver up to 1 MW of power, purpose-built for the Semi's large battery pack, so adding capacity there isn't incidental. It's logistics infrastructure for a fleet that's growing.
Tesla has been ramping Semi production through 2026, and charging infrastructure at the factory level is a prerequisite before trucks can be deployed at scale for freight runs. More Megachargers at Giga Texas means more Semis can charge simultaneously, reducing turnaround time and enabling higher daily utilization. If this expansion tracks with production output, owners and fleet watchers should expect to see significantly more Semi activity at the Austin facility in the coming weeks.
