Tesla Semi Production May Finally Be Picking Up

After a prolonged stretch of sluggish output, there are early indications that Tesla Semi production is beginning to tick upward. Tesla watcher Sawyer Merritt flagged the observation on Friday, noting what appears to be at least a modest increase in Semi units coming off the line.

The Semi has had a notoriously slow ramp since its first deliveries to PepsiCo in late 2022. Tesla has been tight-lipped about production volumes, and the truck has remained in limited supply relative to the demand signals the company has pointed to over the years. Any meaningful uptick in output would be a significant development for fleet operators still waiting on orders — and for Tesla's commercial vehicle ambitions more broadly.

Merritt's language is deliberately cautious — "at least a little bit" — so this is an early signal, not a confirmed ramp announcement. Still, given how little movement the Semi program has shown in recent quarters, even incremental progress is worth watching. Whether this reflects a genuine production inflection or a short-term blip will become clearer as more data surfaces in the weeks ahead.
