Grok has rolled out a new layer of control for developers building apps inside the platform. As of August 20, users can now manage who sees and uses their Grok-built apps — choosing between private, team-shared, or fully public access. The update is live across Grok web, iOS, Android, and the CLI.
Until now, apps deployed through Grok had limited visibility controls. This update brings a more structured permission model to the platform — something developers building internal tools or collaborative projects have needed. A private app stays visible only to its creator; a team-shared app opens access to collaborators; a public app is discoverable by anyone. It's a straightforward tiered system, but one that meaningfully expands what Grok can be used for beyond personal experimentation.
The feature is available to start building with immediately on all supported platforms. For anyone already deploying apps through Grok's CLI or mobile clients, the sharing controls should appear in the app management interface now.
