LG Energy Solution is turning its prismatic battery business into a major revenue engine. According to South Korean industry publication TheElec, the company has won a multi-trillion-won prismatic battery supply contract with Honda — its second major prismatic deal in months, following a roughly $4.3 billion agreement with Tesla finalized in March 2026. If the reported scale holds, the Honda project would be the larger of the two.

The claim that Honda is LGES's first automotive customer for prismatic EV batteries is notable, given that the existing LGES-Honda joint venture in Ohio — L-H Battery Company, Inc. — was originally built around pouch-type cells.
