4. Location: Mayfield West, Right Next to the Grid Connection Point

The site address is 1 McIntosh Drive, Mayfield West, within Newcastle's Steel River Industrial Estate. The choice of location is deliberate — the facility sits directly adjacent to the existing 132kV Mayfield West zone electricity substation, minimizing the infrastructure needed to connect 200 MW of storage to the high-voltage transmission network. 5. Operational Target: Late 2027 — About 15 Months Away

Construction commenced August 14, 2026, and the project is projected to become operational in late 2027. That's a roughly 15-month build window for a 112-unit installation, which aligns with the construction timelines seen on comparable Megapack projects globally.
