Tesla Adds 19-Inch Crossflow Wheel Option for Model Y in Europe

Tesla has quietly expanded the Model Y configurator in Europe, adding the 19-inch Crossflow wheel as a paid option for the Standard RWD variant. The upgrade costs €2,200 (roughly $2,590) and comes with a meaningful range trade-off that buyers should factor in before clicking 'add.'

Opting for the Crossflow wheels drops the WLTP-rated range from the standard figure down to 505 km (313 miles) — a reduction of 29 km (18 miles). That's a roughly 5.4% range penalty, which is typical for larger or aerodynamically less efficient wheel designs. For most European city and highway drivers, 505 km of rated range still leaves substantial real-world buffer, but long-distance touring owners may want to keep the base wheels and their extra range cushion.

The Crossflow design has been a popular aesthetic choice on other Tesla models, offering a more open-spoke look compared to the aero-optimized covers that come standard. Its addition to the Model Y Standard RWD configurator gives European buyers a styling upgrade path that previously wasn't available on the entry-level variant. Whether the visual upgrade justifies both the price premium and the range hit is a personal call — but at least Tesla is now giving owners the choice.
