Tesla's Cybercab is showing more of its hand. A unit on display in a Tesla showroom was spotted running what appears to be the consumer-facing software interface — giving the public one of its earliest looks at how riders will actually interact with the robotaxi service.
The sighting, flagged by Sawyer Merritt, is notable because showroom vehicles are typically used for static display or basic feature demos — not for previewing the actual ride-hailing UI. Putting the consumer software on screen suggests Tesla is either actively gathering feedback, training showroom staff, or simply building awareness ahead of a broader Cybercab rollout. Tesla held an invite-only Cybercab launch event in Austin, Texas, earlier this month on September 3, so the software pipeline is clearly moving.
There's still a lot we don't know about the full rider experience — booking flow, payment integration, in-ride controls — but this is a meaningful signal that the software is far enough along to be shown publicly. The next question is whether these showroom demos become a structured preview program or remain opportunistic sightings like this one.
