Tesla Cybercab Dallas Launch Estimated for November 15

Tesla's Cybercab expansion to Dallas is coming into focus. Prominent Tesla analyst Whole Mars Catalog estimates the purpose-built robotaxi will begin service in Dallas around November 15, 2026 — a date he ties to the Dallas fleet approaching 1 million unsupervised autonomous miles. That milestone, he argues, is the practical trigger for the Cybercab rollout in the city.

Where Dallas Stands Right Now

The estimate isn't coming out of nowhere. Tesla confirmed on its Q3 2026 earnings call on October 21 that Dallas is next in line for Cybercab service — the first city outside of Austin to receive the purpose-built vehicle. At the time of that call, the Dallas Robotaxi fleet (currently operating Model Y vehicles) had accumulated 608,130 unsupervised autonomous miles as of October 18. The overall Tesla Robotaxi fleet had crossed 3.3 million total autonomous miles by the earnings date.

The math behind the November 15 estimate is straightforward: if the Dallas fleet continues accumulating miles at its current pace, it should approach the 1 million mark in roughly three to four weeks. Whole Mars Catalog is treating that milestone as the operational confidence threshold Tesla needs before deploying Cybercabs in the market.

It's worth noting that Tesla has not officially confirmed a specific date within November. The company's Q3 guidance was simply "November 2026" for Dallas. The November 15 figure is an analyst projection, not a Tesla announcement.

Austin as the Benchmark

The Austin rollout gives useful context for what Dallas can expect. Commercial Cybercab service launched in Austin on September 3, 2026 — the same day NHTSA opened audit query AQ26002 to assess the Cybercab's compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, specifically the absence of a steering wheel, gas pedal, and brake pedal. No recall or service halt has been ordered. Since September, the Austin fleet has grown tenfold and now includes over 300 Cybercabs operating without safety drivers.

The Cybercab itself is a two-seat vehicle powered by a 48 kWh battery and a 219-horsepower motor. It relies entirely on camera vision and sensors — no traditional driver controls. Tesla's Texas factory currently has annual production capacity for over 125,000 units.

The Bigger Commercial Picture

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been measured about the near-term financial impact of the Robotaxi service. On the Q3 earnings call, he indicated the Cybercab business won't move the needle on financials until Q2 2027 at the earliest, with more substantial revenue contribution expected in Q3 or Q4 of that year. Tesla also intends to begin selling Cybercabs to fleet operators and individual customers before the end of 2026, though Musk signaled the majority of units will remain Tesla-owned and operated under a transport-as-a-service model.

Dallas represents a meaningful test of whether the operational playbook developed in Austin can transfer to a new market quickly. If the November 15 estimate proves accurate, it would mean Tesla moved from Austin launch to Dallas Cybercab deployment in roughly ten weeks — a pace that would set a template for further city expansions in 2027.
