Tesla Offering Generous Cybertruck Trade-Ins Right Now

If you've been sitting on the fence about trading in your Cybertruck for a new one — or upgrading from another vehicle into a Cybertruck — Tesla's current trade-in program may be worth a closer look. Whole Mars Catalog, a closely followed Tesla enthusiast account, flagged on June 2nd that Tesla's trade-in offers on Cybertruck are notably generous at the moment.

The context matters here. Tesla only began accepting Cybertruck trade-ins around May 2025 — prior to that, the company had reportedly declined to take its own truck back. Since then, real-world trade-in data has shown the Cybertruck depreciating faster than most trucks in its class: early Foundation Series owners have seen values come in around $63,000–$78,000 on trucks originally purchased for $100,000–$127,000, reflecting roughly 35–40% depreciation in the first year or two. For comparison, traditional pickup trucks typically lose around 20% in year one.

Against that backdrop, a shift toward more aggressive trade-in offers signals that Tesla is actively working to move Cybertruck inventory and lower the barrier for existing owners to upgrade or trade across. Tesla also ran a Trade Assistance Program with a June 1, 2026 deadline that included 2,000 free Supercharging miles for customers trading in a gas or hybrid vehicle toward a new Tesla purchase.

If you're considering a Cybertruck purchase, now is the time to get a trade-in estimate through Tesla's website — estimates are free, non-binding, and can shift quickly based on market conditions. Given the truck's above-average depreciation curve, locking in a strong offer sooner rather than later is worth doing.
