The Boring Company Is Hiring Engineers — And Offering a Factory Tour

The Boring Company is actively looking for engineers across five disciplines — and sweetening the deal with a rare inside look at where the work actually happens. The company posted an open call for mechanical, electrical, civil, software, and field engineers, with positions available across its three active locations: Bastrop, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Nashville, Tennessee.

The recruitment push comes with an unusual hook: applicants can sign up for a video tour of the Boring Factory on July 1st, where engineers currently working on the Prufrock tunneling machine will speak directly about the project and the company's 'Beat The Snail' initiative — a reference to TBC's long-standing goal of tunneling faster than a snail moves. It's a format the company has used before; a similar Engineering Demo Day was held at the Bastrop facility back in 2023, giving candidates a ground-level view of operations before committing to an application.

The breadth of roles on offer reflects where TBC is in its build-out. According to the company's careers page, open positions span civil and tunnel design engineering, software automation and embedded systems, operations, and construction — alongside internships running through Fall 2026 and into Winter/Spring 2027. For engineers drawn to large-scale infrastructure and high-velocity development cycles, the July 1st tour is a low-commitment way to hear from the people actually building the machines before deciding whether to apply.
