Giga Texas Marks USA's 250th as Q2 Results Loom

Giga Texas wrapped up the second quarter with some patriotic flair. As America celebrated its 250th birthday on July 4th weekend, longtime Giga Texas observer Joe Tegtmeyer captured the factory in full celebratory mode — and dropped a hint that the quarter itself may be worth celebrating too.

The timing is no coincidence. Tesla's official Q2 2026 production and delivery report is expected around July 2, and the numbers analysts are projecting are genuinely encouraging. According to Tesla's own company-compiled consensus — drawn from 21-22 sell-side analysts — the street is modeling roughly 406,024 total deliveries for the quarter, up approximately 12% from Q1 2026's 358,023 vehicles. The bulk of that would come from Model 3 and Model Y at around 392,625 units, with the remaining ~13,000 split across Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck.

Giga Texas is at the center of that story. The Austin factory produces both the Model Y and Cybertruck, and it's been a busy few months on the expansion front. A new Terafab North Campus — a roughly 2-million-square-foot facility focused on next-generation AI chip research — is in planning, alongside 5.2 million additional square feet of phased construction across the site. Meanwhile, Cybercab volume production commenced in April, and Tesla began engineering tests of the first production Cybercab units on public Austin roads on June 30 — the day before Tegtmeyer's video was posted.

The official Q2 report will confirm whether the optimism is warranted. Earnings follow on July 22. For now, the factory lights are on, the flag is flying, and the quarter is closed.
