Starlink has crossed 12 million active customers — a milestone the company confirmed on June 4, 2026, covering subscribers across more than 160 countries and territories. The number represents a striking acceleration from just nine months ago, when the network was serving nine million users.

According to @SawyerMerritt, Starlink added approximately 27,700 new customers per day on average since hitting the 10.2 million mark in March 2026 — a pace that brought the network from 10 million to 12 million in roughly 53 days. For context, it took the service until February 2026 to reach 10 million total, meaning the last two million came faster than any prior increment.

The constellation supporting those customers now exceeds 10,300 satellites in orbit. Separately, Starlink's Direct to Cell service — which delivers connectivity to standard smartphones without specialized hardware — has reached more than 12 million people, adding another dimension to the network's reach beyond traditional dish subscribers.

At this growth rate, the 15 million mark is a realistic near-term target. Whether the network can sustain ~28K daily additions as it pushes deeper into emerging markets — where infrastructure and pricing pressures are more complex — is the real question worth watching.
