π UPDATE β May 17, 2026
Tesla's Supercharger Site Map feature is now expanding beyond Canada, with a rollout confirmed for Supercharger stations in Australia. The feature, which provides improved on-site navigation and charging location details for EV owners, appears to be gaining momentum globally. No specific software version requirement for the Australian rollout has been confirmed yet, but the expansion suggests Tesla is pushing this feature broadly across international markets.
Canadian Tesla owners just got a meaningful upgrade to the charging experience. Tesla's Supercharger Site Maps feature β which provides a live visual layout of charging stations directly on your touchscreen β has officially expanded to Canada, confirmed by @SawyerMerritt on May 11, 2026. If you've been on the fence about whether it's worth checking your software version, this is your nudge.

What Supercharger Site Maps Actually Shows You
This isn't just a pin on a map. According to verified reports, the feature delivers a live 3D view of the Supercharger location you're navigating to, rendered directly on your vehicle's touchscreen. Here's what the layout includes:
- Precise stall positions β see exactly where each stall is located within the site
- Real-time stall availability β available, occupied, or out of service, updated live
- Cable reach indicators β know before you park whether the cable reaches your charge port
- Entrance and exit points β no more circling an unfamiliar lot
- Accessibility info β handicap-accessible spots and trailer-friendly bays are clearly marked
- Nearby amenities β restaurants, restrooms, and other conveniences shown in context
- 3D vehicle models β Tesla vehicles currently charging are rendered as 3D models of their actual model; non-Tesla EVs appear as generic placeholders
The feature was first introduced as part of Tesla's 2025 Holiday Update in early December 2025, and its Canada expansion was confirmed by Max de Zegher, Tesla's Director of Charging North America, back in February 2026. As of that confirmation, the feature was live at 300 Supercharger sites globally, with Tesla adding over 300 new locations per week β targeting full eligible network coverage by end of 2026.
How to Access It: What Canadian Owners Need to Do
The good news: once your software is up to date, new site maps are pushed automatically via Tesla's API β no further updates required each time a new location goes live.
- Check your software version. Go to Controls β Software on your touchscreen. You need version 2025.44.25.1 or later to access Supercharger Site Maps.
- If you're behind, request an update. Tap Software β Check for Updates. If an update is available, schedule it for a time when the car is parked and plugged in.
- Navigate to a Supercharger. Open the map and route to any Supercharger location. As you approach or tap the station pin, the Site Map view should appear automatically if that location has been mapped.
- Look for the 3D layout overlay. The site map renders within the navigation interface β you'll see stall positions, availability status, and the entrance/exit layout without needing to tap into a separate menu.
- Not seeing it at a specific station? Not every site is mapped yet. Tesla is rolling out at 300+ locations per week, so if your local Supercharger isn't showing the 3D view today, it likely will within weeks.
Which Vehicles Are Supported
Supercharger Site Maps works across Tesla's current lineup β Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck β provided the vehicle is running software 2025.44.25.1 or later. Older vehicles with hardware limitations that prevent them from receiving recent software updates may not have access to the feature.
With Tesla's stated goal of covering the entire eligible Supercharger network by the end of 2026, Canadian owners joining the rollout now are getting in early on what will eventually be a standard part of every charging stop. The practical value β knowing exactly which stall to pull into, whether the cable reaches, and where to exit β is the kind of friction-reducing detail that makes a real difference on a long road trip.
