Tesla's Robotaxi app just picked up a small but rider-friendly upgrade. Version 26.6.0, detected on July 22, adds the ability to search and play music directly from within the app — no need to interact with the vehicle's touchscreen mid-ride.

The changelog is a single line: Search and play music from the app. That's it — but the implication is meaningful. Riders in a Cybercab can now control their listening experience from their phone rather than reaching for the in-car display, which keeps the interaction model firmly on the passenger's device where it belongs. The Robotaxi app already supported some music preference customization, but the ability to actively search and queue tracks in real time is a step toward a more self-contained ride experience.
No word yet on which streaming services are supported or whether this pulls from the vehicle's existing Tesla Premium Connectivity catalog. That detail will likely surface once riders start testing it in active deployments.
