New aerial footage from Joe Tegtmeyer confirms the rapidly expanding Giga Texas Optimus facility is designed for a staggering 10 million units per year production capacity β clarifying that this Texas factory is entirely separate from the Fremont pilot line. The Fremont facility, coming online later this year, is a smaller 1 million units/year pilot line. Together, the two factories represent Tesla's dual-track approach to scaling Optimus: prove the process at Fremont, then mass-produce at Texas.

Tesla's dedicated Optimus robot factory at Giga Texas is expanding at a visible pace. Aerial footage captured on July 20 shows the structure has reached 10 column grids in width β roughly 400 to 450 feet (about 130 to 140 meters) running north to south β with construction crews pushing the footprint further in both directions every day.
On the southern end of the site, ground prep work is keeping pace with the steel going up. Fill dirt, geotextile membranes, and silt fences are all active β standard land reclamation steps that signal the foundation footprint is still being enlarged rather than just finished. The pace suggests Tesla isn't slowing down to consolidate before expanding further.
The Optimus factory is being built on the Giga Texas campus as a dedicated production facility for Tesla's humanoid robot program β a line that Tesla has been accelerating aggressively heading into the second half of 2026. How large the final structure will be remains to be seen, but the daily progress visible from the air makes clear that the buildout is far from complete.
