Grok 4.3 Lands on Amazon Bedrock With 1M Token Context

xAI's Grok 4.3 is now accessible through Amazon Bedrock, giving AWS developers direct access to the reasoning model inside one of the most widely used cloud AI platforms. The integration, announced June 16, 2026, marks xAI's formal entry as a model provider on Bedrock — a meaningful distribution milestone for a model that only reached general availability via the xAI API in early May.

Grok 4.3 is a reasoning-first model with configurable effort levels — low, medium, or high — letting developers tune the compute-versus-speed tradeoff depending on the task. On Bedrock, it runs on Mantle, Amazon's new inference engine built for price-performance efficiency. The context window sits at 1 million tokens with a maximum output of 30,000 tokens, which puts it in range for long-document workloads like contract review, case law research, and financial document analysis.

Pricing on Bedrock's on-demand tier comes in at $1.25 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens, with cached input at $0.20 per million — competitive positioning for a model xAI has marketed on its low hallucination rate and tool-calling reliability. A December 2025 study placed Grok at 8% hallucination rate across ten major models tested, though some benchmarks from May 2026 suggest the 4.3 version trades a marginal increase in hallucination rate for higher overall reasoning capability compared to its predecessor.

Beyond text, the model supports native video input and can generate PDFs, spreadsheets, and slide decks — capabilities that push it toward enterprise automation use cases rather than simple chat. It also supports structured output and response streaming, both standard requirements for production agent pipelines. For AWS shops already invested in Bedrock's security and compliance posture, the ability to call Grok 4.3 without leaving that environment removes a meaningful integration barrier that previously required a separate xAI API key and custom middleware.

Whether this translates into real adoption depends largely on how Grok 4.3 performs head-to-head against the models already entrenched in Bedrock workflows. The knowledge cutoff is December 2025, though real-time X platform data access partially offsets that gap for current-events queries. AWS developers can get started via the xAI documentation linked in the announcement thread.
